Another year! Penguin Girl is starting second grade this year. We are carpooling with her friend K (the ex-BFF) and K's younger brother. They will take Penguin Girl Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I will take them on Tuesday and Thursdays when I have to teach. On the days I drive, I'll brave the carpool line and pick her up at school also. The other days she will probably take the bus. There is a new bus arrangement this year because of budget cuts. We'll see how that works out.
K's mom wanted to get an early start in case of Back-to-School traffic. As you can see, the sun is not all the way up yet. Notice the penguins on her socks? It's a rare day that my girl is without her penguins.
