Penguin Girl went to her first piano competition this afternoon. After she played, she reported that she made 3 mistakes. She wanted to wait until her teacher, Mrs. L, could track down her comment sheet and certificate. Penguin Girl was pretty thrilled to see that her certificate came with the gold seal that meant she got the highest rating of superior! Mrs. L told her that not many students are given superior marks. I don't know how true this is because Mrs. L typically tells Penguin Girl very, very encouraging things. Mrs. L was a bit disappointed that Penguin Girl opted to skip another local competition next weekend to attend a swim meet. However, with her gold sticker, she can move onto to the state competition next month. Mrs. L was very firm with us. No other activities for the day of the state competition!
